GENERAL:  

Harvest Drive Gift Card Prizes will be distributed during all four lunch periods today, November 20.  Ms. O'Brien will be set up near the small gym doors in the cafeteria.  Students must show a photo I.D. in order to claim their gift card.  Students who selected tuition credit for their prize should have seen a credit on their November tuition statement.  Questions, please contact Ms. O'Brien at (815) 717-3163. 

Benefit Dinner for the Hettinger Family:  St. Patrick’s Parrish in Joliet will host a benefit dinner for the Hettinger Family this Sunday Nov. 22 from 12-6pm at St Patrick’s School gym (110 Willow Ave. in Joliet).  All ages are welcome. There will be live, music featuring the Fender Benders, games, food and raffles.  For more information please contact Bob Vergo: 815-954-0233. 

Preschool Aides please report to your study hall on Tuesday, November 24. School will not be in session. 

The Dean’s Ofc. has numerous pairs of eyeglasses that have been turned in to the lost and found.  Stop and see Mrs. Kettwig for a look see! 

SHADOW DAYS….Our next available Shadow Days for 8th graders are Dec. 4 and Dec. 11.  Parents must call Mrs. Ellingson to schedule their student for a Shadow Day.

SENIORS:  We are tracking all admission acceptances and scholarships that are awarded to our seniors.  Please bring in your letters to the Guidance Office and we will make a copy for you.  We would like copies of all letters even if you are not sure if you will be accepting them. 

SENIORS:  The following college reps will be visiting Providence:

Mon11/23

8:45 am (per. 2) West Point Military Academy**

Tue 11/24 

12:45 pm (per. 5) U.S. Naval Academy**

** Visit to these reps will be open to sophomores, juniors and seniors.

If you wish to see any of these reps you must sign up and get a pass in the Guidance Office.  Your pass must be signed at least one day in advance by the teacher of the class you will miss.

ACTIVITIES & CLUBS: 

Attention Habitat Members: Those of you selling candy this month must turn in their $52 CHECK made out to Providence by Tuesday, November 24!  No cash is accepted.  Also, if you signed up to work the open house on Sunday, November 22, you must stop by Mrs. Maratea’s room (Room 118) sometime Wednesday or Thursday if this week.   

National ART Honor Society:  The next meeting will be held Wednesday, December 2, at 2:45 – 4:00 in the Art Room.  Secret Santa names will be chosen!!!!!!  So make sure you don’t miss this meeting

SPORTS: 

TODAY AT NOON IS YOUR LAST CHANCE TO SIGN UP FOR THE FAN BUS TO SATURDAY’S GAME.  When you sign up in the Main Office you will purchase your ticket for the game.  Cost is $6.00.  
Fan bus departs from Providence at 9:30 AM sharp.
 
Meet the bus in the back of school near the cafeteria entrance.

PRE-SALE TICKETS FOR THE GAME ON SATURDAY:

  • The Athletic Office will be pre-selling tickets for this week’s playoff game at Danville for those who are not taking the Fan Bus. On Friday, November 20, 2009, tickets will be sold from 8-Noon and at lunches.

  • PLEASE NOTE:  EVERYONE NEEDS A TICKET FOR THE GAME PER IHSA RULES.   ALL TICKETS ARE $6.00.  GATES OPEN 2HRS BEFORE THE GAME.  GAME TIME IS 3PM.  SINCE SEATING IS LIMITED, WE ADVISE THAT YOU BE THERE WHEN THE GATES OPEN AT 1PM. 

GIRLS BASKETBALL:   Congratulations:  Last night the Freshman A, Sophomore and Varsity teams pulled out wins against Rich East High School with excellent team play. 

  • The Varsity team was lead by Cassidy Glenn who had 17 points and 12 rebounds, Dani Barry added 10 points, 5 rebounds and seniors Ally Hoss and Brianne Vandenberg scored 9 each.  Earlier in the week the Varsity lost to an experienced Naperville Central team in the Sweet 16 tournament currently the Varsity is 1-1.

  • The Varsity team will face St. Charles North on Saturday in Geneva Thanksgiving Tournament.  The Freshman and Sophomore teams will play on Tuesday at the 3rd Annual Providence Catholic Thanksgiving Tournament for Freshman and Sophomore teams.  Good luck to all. 

Attention Ice Hockey Fans:   Both the Varsity and Junior Varsity teams play this Friday night at the Arctic Ice Arena against Barrington.  JV will play at 7:10 PM and Varsity will play at 8:40 PM.  Look for flyers in the hallways with more information.  Make your plans to spend an evening at the rink to see some exciting action.  Admission free for all PCHS students.
