Athletic competition is an important ingredient in the high school experience.  More than 85% of the students at Providence Catholic participate in a sport or activity. 

Providence offers 21 sports (freshman through varsity) for both boys and girls. The Providence Catholic Celtics maintain a standard of excellence that stands second to none. To date, Providence Catholic High School has won 25 state championship titles that total more titles than any other Catholic high school in Illinois.
