St. Nicholas of Tolentine was a simple priest
and Augustinian friar who touched the lives of many. He was
full of charity towards his brother Augustinians as well as the
people to whom he ministered. The Society of St. Nicholas of
Tolentine honors those who make an annual unrestricted gift of
$1,000 or more.
St. Thomas of Villanova was known for his
promotion of studies and missions in the Order of St. Augustine,
and for his love and care for the poor. The Society of St.
Thomas of Villanova honors those who make an annual gift of
$1,000 or more to the Student Tuition Endowment Fund.
St. Monica, the mother of St. Augustine,
was a woman of profound faith who devoted her life to the
conversion of her son to Christianity. The Society of St.
Monica honors those who make an annual gift of $1,000 or more to
the Faculty Endowment Fund.
St. Clare of Montefalco was an Augustinian
nun noted for her devotion to the Passion of Christ. She
was given the gift of knowledge, which she used to defend the
Christian faith. The Society of St. Clare of Montefalco
honors those who make an annual restricted gift of $1,000 or
more.

St. Augustine of Hippo, a great
philosopher and theologian and one of the most important
figures in the development of western Christianity, is the
patron saint of the Augustinian religious order.

Bishop Roger Kaffer is credited with saving
Providence Catholic High School in the 1970’s, when it was
threatened with closure. He served as principal from 1970
– 1984, during which time the school thrived because of his
vision and tireless energy. Donors who make a gift of $500

The Sisters of Providence from St.
Mary-of-the-Woods, IN were the first religious order to
administer and staff Providence High School when it opened in
1918 in Joliet. They are also credited with the
construction of the current school building from 1959 – 1962.
